Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for playing detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was born as the sole child of her homemaker mother and an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life with 4 brothers. Though she had a dream of becoming journalist, it was not until the time of her high school days that Delaney began to model. When she moved from New York City and gaining experience with commercials in New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. When she was a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress came in the soap opera All My Children. Her career as an actor has been awash by a myriad of TV films and dramas. In contrast to her successful professional life, Delaney's personal life is not successful and happy. There were two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcoholism. In 2005, the actress lost the custody of her son.
